OUR MAIN ACTIVITIES

KTLA has a 10-year experience in hosting international and local volunteers for short-term workcamps in Kok Payom village. KTLA aims at matching the needs, interests and at enhancing the learning process of both the volunteers and the local community. While volunteers are encouraged to create and run elements of the workcamp program themselves, they contribute to real, practical ongoing activities of the village community. They work together with middle and long-term volunteers, camp leaders, children, youths and adults from the village immersed in the beautiful tropical nature of Southern Thailand.

One of the core activities of KTLA, in partnership with the Kok Payom Community Forest Conservation Department (KCFC), is to support the mangrove forest conservation in Klong Toh Lem and the surrounding areas. Mangroves represent a real natural treasure for the local community, given their special role in preserving the eco-system that allows marine creatures to live and thrive. To contribute to the protection of this fragile system, challenged by climate change and pollution of the marine areas, KTLA organizes a yearly mangrove plantation event; new mangroves are planted in the area of Klong Toh Lem, in a big celebration of the village and the nature.
การปลูกป่าชายเลน
หนึ่งในกิจกรรมหลักของมูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมี คือ การปลูกป่าชายเลนร่วมกับกลุ่มอนุรักษ์ป่าชายเลนในชุมชน สนับสนุนการอนุรักษ์ป่าชายเลนบริเวณคลองโต๊ะเหล็มและพื้นที่โดยรอบ ซึ่งป่าชายเลนหรือป่าโกงกางนี้สะท้อนความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของธรรมชาติและระบบนิเวศ รวมถึงเป็นแหล่งอนุบาลสัตว์น้ำให้เจริญเติบโต เพื่อสนับสนุนการปกป้องระบบที่เปราะบาง อีกทั้งการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและมลพิษของพื้นที่ทางทะเล มูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีจึงจัดกิจกรรมปลูกป่าชายเลนขึ้นทุกปี รวมถึงมีการปลูกป่าชายเลนใหม่ในพื้นที่คลองโต๊ะเหล็มเพื่อเป็นการเฉลิมฉลองครั้งใหญ่ของหมู่บ้านและการสร้างชีวิตคืนสู่ธรรมชาติอีกครั้ง

Since 2009, KTLA has been hosting international volunteers through DaLaa. Middle and long-term volunteers contribute to all the activities of the Academy, with special focus on creative English teaching and non-formal education for the junior volunteers, and community and organization development for the senior ones (EU Aid Volunteers). Junior volunteers work with children, youths and adults in the village and they have the freedom to build their own activities according to their interests and inclinations. Senior volunteers mainly focus on capacity building within the organization and for its beneficiaries.
อาสาสมัครระยะกลางและระยะยาว
นับตั้งแต่ปีพ.ศ. 2552 ที่มูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีได้ดูแลกลุ่มอาสาสมัครนานาชาติภายใต้โครงการอาสาสมัครของดาหลา อาสาสมัครระยะกลางและระยะยาวล้วนมีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมทั้งหมดของมูลนิธิโดยเน้นการสอนภาษาอังกฤษเชิงสร้างสรรค์ การศึกษานอกระบบสำหรับอาสาสมัครรุ่นน้อง และการพัฒนาชุมชนและองค์กรสำหรับอาสาสมัครรุ่นพี่ (EU Aid Volunteers) อาสาสมัครรุ่นน้องจะทำงานกับเด็กเยาวชนและผู้ใหญ่ในหมู่บ้าน และพวกเขามีอิสระในการสร้างสรรค์กิจกรรมความสนใจของพวกเขา ในขณะเดียวกันอาสาสมัครรุ่นพี่ส่วนใหญ่มุ่งเน้นไปที่การเสริมสร้างศักยภาพภายในองค์กรและการพัฒนาองค์กรให้เกิดผลประโยชน์สูงสุด

KTLA believes that a life-long learning approach to education alongside with non-formal education methods is the complementary piece missing to formal education in Thailand. In rural areas, promoting education and a culture of learning is still strongly needed and it represents a pre-condition to sustainable development. KTLA’s focus on education is interrelated to each one of its core activities and it represents the heart of its mission. The foundation takes in fact its name from the Academy that promotes non-formal education in the village, outside the restrictions of the classrooms and through fun and engaging activities.
การศึกษานอกระบบ
มูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีเชื่อว่าแนวทางการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตเพื่อการศึกษาควบคู่ไปกับวิธีการศึกษานอกระบบคือสิ่งที่ขาดหายไปจากการศึกษาในประเทศไทย ในพื้นที่ชนบทการส่งเสริมการศึกษาและวัฒนธรรมแห่งการเรียนรู้ยังคงมีความจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งและเป็นการแสดงให้เห็นถึงการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน การมุ่งเน้นด้านการศึกษาของมูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีนั้นสัมพันธ์กับกิจกรรมหลักแต่ละกิจกรรม ซึ่งเป็นหัวใจหลักของการพัฒนา โดยมูลนิธินี้ใช้ชื่อจากสถาบันการศึกษาที่ส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้นอกระบบภายในชุมชน รวมถึงผ่านกิจกรรมที่สนุกสนานและน่าสนใจ
ค่ายอาสา
เป็นเวลากว่า 10 ปีแล้วที่มูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีได้ให้การดูแลกลุ่มอาสาสมัครนานาชาติและอาสาสมัครภายในชุมชนภายใต้โครงการค่ายอาสาระยะสั้นในชุมชนบ้านโคกพยอม มูลนิธิคลองโต๊ะเหล็มอะคาเดมีมุ่งเน้นการตอบสนองความต้องการ ความสนใจ และเพิ่มพูนกระบวนการเรียนรู้ของอาสาสมัครและชุมชนท้องถิ่น ในขณะเดียวกันกลุ่มอาสาสมัครยังได้รับการสนับสนุนในการสร้างสรรค์ค่ายอาสาด้วยตนเอง พวกเขามีส่วนร่วมในกิจกรรมต่างๆภายในชุมชน อีกทั้งพวกเขายังทำงานร่วมกับกลุ่มอาสาสมัครระยะกลางและระยะยาว ผู้นำค่าย เด็ก เยาวชน และผู้ใหญ่ภายในชุมชน พร้อมทั้งดื่มด่ำไปกับธรรมชาติเขตร้อนอันงดงามของภาคใต้ในประเทศไทย
